The holiday season turns deadly for a group of sorority sisters (Katie Cassidy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lacey Chabert, Michelle Trachtenberg) who are stranded at their campus house during a snowstorm. These coeds better watch out, for a vicious killer is on the loose, and he will not care if they are naughty or nice.

Critics Consensus

A gratuitous remake of the 1974 slasher, Black Christmas pumps out the gore and blood with zero creativity, humor, or visual flair.

In its attempts to build a franchise and legacy, Black Christmas stabs itself in the eye. Blind from any sort of craft or talent, every piece of the film fails in an overly exploitive and off-putting experience that is impossible to justify watching. Go to Full Review

Freddy S. @BartierNBhardonnay 20h this movie was mad scary and good See more Andrianna C. @marriedtotheplot 4d Between the flip phones, the butterfly knife, and the “U @?” texts… this movie is peak 2006 in the most unhinged way possible. First time watching it and wow—what a wild sleigh ride it took us on. It’s messy, chaotic, kind of ridiculous, but honestly? That’s half the charm. A candy-cane–soaked fever dream of razor bangs, low-rise jeans, and holiday horror. 🎄🔪 See more Sinister S @sinisterSUE Nov 21 A remake that is pretty true to the original, but changes it enough to make it worth watching. They even brought back Andrea Martin. I think the plot was interesting, and it makes with the gore. I love gore. No apologies. Merry Christmas. See more dierick m Jul 1 I don’t understand the hate on this movie when it’s really good and amazing the blonde girl I forgot her name she was the best final girl on this franchise she ate how she push the killer and electrocute the other one and I can’t they delete Melissa shotgun scene when it would make better the movie also rest in the the actor of Melissa we never going to forget you See more Blu B Mar 24 What's so noticeable about this one for me vs the original and yes the original was very atmospheric, colorful, and very well directed. This is not well directed so much as "noticably" directed. The camerawork is like John Frankenheimer shot this. The style works for very surreal stories but this really isn't a surreal story. So it comes across as obnoxious and distracting. The lighting in this feels like I'm watching a 70's fever dream. The lighting just comes across as bizarre and surreal. Not atmospheric in the slightest. The acting is just terrible. The villian is stupid and way too over the top. None of the girls really are that likeable, most are forgettable, blend in, and at best are ok. The editing & pacing isn't good here. It's like a whodunit mixed with a slasher kind of but fails because all the backstory we get on the killer is obviously a fakeout so it doesn't really make sense. We jump between the killer backstory, the different girls, and the fact it divides them up all the time makes this very jumpy. The kills aren't even that creative either. Gone is any of the clever script, direciton, and atmosphere for a "modern" take on the material. Skip this. A terrible remake. See more Mar 21 Not as good as I thought, very slow and the characters were so dumb See more Read all reviews
