      Critics Consensus

Fist Fight boasts a surplus of comedic muscle but flails lazily, and far too few of its jokes land with enough force to register.

Elijah B Ice Cube and Charlie Day crush it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/24 Full Review Keith N A few scenes made me laugh . Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Bec B This a so funny and Charlie Day is a fantastic actor. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/05/23 Full Review Luis Daniel E It's a comedy and I know it's not the best movie but it makes you have a fun and enjoyable time, in my personal opinion it's a good movie to watch when you don't have something to watch, I'm not saying it's good, let alone saying it's bad it's just an interesting movie. Thanks for your time Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Georgan G Great acting and some great jokes. Just not enough jokes to last the entire movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Brandon A It's just meant to be a dumb, fun movie that you're supposed to have a laugh with. If you go into it expecting anything else, you'll probably be disappointed. It's certainly not the best comedy compared to other great comedy films. There are certainly some stand out scenes that get a reaction out of you. I love Charlie Day and Ice Cube, I think they did good for what they were given. While everyone else is just kinda there. Some of the comedy hits, some doesn't. So overall, it's not bad at all but not amazing either. Don't go into it expecting a great script or cohesive story because that's not what the movie was focusing on, it was meant to just be dumb fun. Tara Brady Irish Times Here is a film that continually squanders its cast and your time. Rated: 2/5 Mar 17, 2017 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Screenwriters Van Robichaux, Evan Susser, and Max Greenfield raise the satirical ante with a nicely jaundiced view of the school, which is underfunded, riven by office politics, and teetering on the brink of anarchy. Mar 9, 2017 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) With its bullying mob mentality and inexplicable character motivation, this is film-making for people who watch YouTube clips of happy-slapping for kicks. Rated: 1/5 Mar 5, 2017 Full Review Bill Chambers Film Freak Central Why craft a punchline when the camera can run indefinitely while you look for one? Rated: 0.5/4 Mar 3, 2022 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Aggressive in its insistence on being as awful as possible.
