Rated 1.5/5 Stars •  Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member This was the first "Coffin Joe" movie I saw on IFC. Creepy and surreal, the movie doesn't pull any punches. Each person who enters the hostel finding a permanent room; getting to that point takes a little too long, but that might not be the preference of Brazilian audiences. Hard to say. The plot is Faustian, and its conclusion was good enough to make me keep a spot open on the DVR for the next "Coffin Joe" tale. Naked hippies, thieves and others turn up at a strange inn run by Coffin Joe, no cliche goes unturned and the whole experience is somewhat interesting, but also very much an acquired taste. People arrive at a strange inn do one of the following: talk, play cards, strip naked, then the big obvious reveal happens. Its not scary, its not sexy, its 90 minutes I wish I could get back.
