The world’s most ferocious death metal band, Impaled Rektum, is back and ready to unleash hell! Shackled by fate and locked up in a Norwegian prison, the band discovers their lead guitarist’s family reindeer slaughterhouse faces a financial storm. Turo, Lotvonen, Xytrax and Oula hatch a daring escape plan to help. Desperate for the money, and the chance to perform at the ultimate battleground for metal warriors, Impaled Rektum takes a journey through northern Europe to the legendary Wacken music festival. But hot on their trail is a vengeful prison guard, thirsting for revenge, and a sketchy record label executive, weaving lies that could shatter their dreams and worse, compromise the integrity of the band. Amidst the chaos, the band must forge a bond stronger than the darkest riffs — forging alliances with the most unexpected compatriots, including an epic cameo from the Japanese Kawaii-metal band, Babymetal. Only the raw power of metal can determine their fate! Prepare for a relentless odyssey of sound, fury, and the unbreakable spirit of true heavy metal in this sequel to cult classic HEAVY TRIP.

Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com There's fewer surprises and less antic urgency than there was in "Heavy Trip," but if you like this sort of comedy—or really, this type of characters—you'll probably find something to enjoy. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 2, 2024 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed he humor here still works well, the story is interesting, and the whole package is a lot of fun. Heavier Trip is a worthy sequel that, while not as good as the first, is a strong follow-up on most fronts. Dec 28, 2024 Full Review Jonathan DeHaan Nightmare on Film Street Heavier Trip a laugh out our riot and of full-on assault of metal gags & killer tracks, like a Blues Brothers for headbangers. Rated: 9/10 Dec 7, 2024 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film There’s a lot here that’s familiar, but the endearing characters and great comic timing turn it into something distinctive, with a natural charm that few films in this subgenre can match. Rated: 4/5 Dec 4, 2024 Full Review Miyako Pleines Spectrum Culture A somewhat predictable sequel to a heavy-metal comedy, Heavier Trip still packs a punch, and plenty of rock. Dec 4, 2024 Full Review J Hurtado ScreenAnarchy A sympathetic postapocalyptic pessimism-grinding frown-abusing extreme smile-creating Fennoscandian metal movie for the ages. Tristan I You shouldn't watch the movie expecting high quality cinema, because at the end of the day, it's a satirical movie. But it is a fun movie to watch for metalheads, with some cool easter eggs and running gags (including Xytrax secretly becoming a fan of Babymetal and the singer of Blood Motor having such a demonical voice that he uses some kind of inhaler to speak understandably). Throughout the story, Heavier Trip also critics both the music industry and gatekeeping tendencies in the metal scene in a decent enough way that it doesn't become tedious. All things considered, I would consider this a decent comedy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/25 Full Review tm11999 M guys are forced into another road trip, extra cookie monster vocals and lots of hijinks. they should have brought back minka kuustonen from the 1st film, it's an OK watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/31/24 Full Review acsdoug D I loved the first one. This one, not so much. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/12/24 Full Review prawnda s this could have been much better, but it's a bit disorganized and has too many interruptions for slapstick gags. it's still a fun watch, but the first movie is much better in my opinion. i'll give it 3 stars because i think this group can make another solid film, but i wasn't very impressed with how they managed the higher budget for this one. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/05/24 Full Review Moody C This was bad and unfunny but Finnish bad is still better than American bad movies and at least production value was better than cheap Halloween props.
