Audience Member Lasse Brudell (Shanti Roney) is a programmer working with the top secret EWS computer system for JAS 39 Gripen at a military air force base in Norrbotten/ Sweden. He seems to be Lasse's only rescue and reluctantly they start working together. But it's not just their different temperaments and personalities that crash. Haglund has also begun to suspect Lasse for treason. Lasse is now forced to choose to spy and betray his country or remain loyal and sacrifice his family... "Hotet" is a pretty poorly made Swedish thriller directed by Kjell Sundvall mostly known for "Jägarna" (1996). The storyline is not that exciting nor unique in any ways. The so called twists and turns are not adding anything. You simply don´t believe what is presented infront of you. The acting is poor, the direction is poor, the suspense is poor. It´s a very flawed piece of film. The only part that is actually ok is the flight scenes. Trivia: The Swedish Air Force made two demands of the filmmakers in return for the loan of the six JAS 39 Gripen Fighter jets. The First was that all aerial photography would be granted for use in commercials by the Air Force free of charge. The second was that one of the military characters was a female and that she had a substantial role, because the Air Force wants more women to apply for service. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member An OK swedish spy thriller by, among others, Stefan Sauk. Not the best thing since sliced bread, but something to watch when nothing good is on TV. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice swedish action. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice northern scenery, occasionally "spännande" - but a bit too violent for my taste. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A swedish action-movie and a pretty good one too. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
