Kurt L Really nothing more than a docudrama with quite a few historical inaccuracies. A feature length studio film that added some human relationships and sub plots would have been welcome. Selleck does a decent job with a very limited script. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Paul S I really like how Tom Sellick play his role. Additionally I believe that the other characters were well played and portrayed. This is definitely on my watch over and again list. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Eric S Selleck gives an understated yet convincing performance of Ike in the months leading up to D-Day. Completely believable and inspiring. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/24 Full Review Trent M Great movie, and accurate portrayal of the events leading up to D-Day. Good casting and excellent performance by Tom Selleck. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review steve d Really interesting, especially given that no war is shown. A must for history buffs. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Tom Selleck's performance is committed; a man under pressure in a situation of total war. In some ways, I think, it's better than Gary Oldman's performance as Churchill. On a human level, Selleck's Ike is portrayed as the "Supreme Commander" who is weighed down with the pressure of titanic egos. The broader analogy is of a young, rich country dealing with old, influential empires who do not want to relinquish their power, influence and affluence. The movie takes its time to examine this. It doesn't make this the greatest movie on Earth, but it makes it a watchable movie for a Saturday afternoon and Selleck's portrayal of a pensive Ike, facilitating the process of war, weighing up the spoils of war including lives lost against what can be justifiably salvaged, was an interesting 21st century reflection on whether it was all worth it.
