Despite its stated obsession with all things "peculiar," there's little about this movie that is actually surprising. It comes across like a movie going through the motions of setting up a franchise, not a movie eager to bring you on a wild adventure.

This movie is an absolute must‑see. As someone who usually avoids horror or anything too scary, I was surprised to find that it’s one of the best films I’ve ever watched. It has a bit of everything: light comedy, a touch of romance, and just enough scares to keep you on the edge of your seat without being overwhelming. The story takes you through happy, sad, and nail‑biting moments, all woven together into a really memorable and unique film.

At first glance the movie looks PG, but as you watch it in many places seems to be pushing the boundaries of PG-13. It is a unique (or should I say peculiar?) movie, which we've come to expect from Tim Burton but we should never take for granted. The visuals come together very well.

i loved the film and had read the book series before it, i believe the reason the end seemed less put together than the beginning is because it was completely different to the 5 books that come after the first half of the film (book 1) and took out really important plot and characters. loved the new ending and it still worked in that world and really showed the characters without making them toned down in their personalities

I love this movie, one of the best I've ever watched! It delivers "terror", drama, romance, friendship and much more, for Tim Burton lovers I highly recommend it! I haven't stopped watching since the first day I saw it, too good.
