Audience Member The film makers deviate heavily from the non-fiction book the story is based on, "My Six Convicts: A Psychologist's Three Years in Fort Leavenworth." Nonetheless, this is an earnest effort to portray the work done by a psychologist in a maximum security prison. Production credits across the line are excellent. Director Hugo Fregonese received a DGA nomination for best director and Millard Mitchell a Golden Globe for best supporting actor.
