Audience Member I'm not sure how to react to this one, as it is a bit too art house for my taste. That Sokurov provides powerful images of the Spartan and dangerous conditions Russian soldiers faced while defending the Afghan-Tadjik border against Taliban incursions. It would be significantly improved, however, by either additional narration, subtitles for all dialogue, or both. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Extremely powerful. This may be my favorite Sokurov film that I have seen. Its a great documentary that really is a great study of the Human Condition.
