Audience Member Cheh Chang and the Venom Mob deliver again! The film is essentially two stories. One about the Ten Tigers seeking disciples to train and then exact their revenge on an evil general. The second half of the film follows the disciples fighting off a group of assassins. So the story is a standard martial arts tale of revenge, but this is a Venom Mob film, so the action is going to be far above average. Director Cheh Chang, along with Ti Lung, Fu Sheng, and Phillip Kwok deliver the goods. I think the finale is worth noting that the demise of the film's villains was wildly unexpected and (SPOILER ALERT) contains one of the craziest martial arts decapitations scenes ever ("Riki-Oh" not included)! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Framed with a story within a story, it starts with dastardly villains plotting the deaths of the sons and descendants of the Ten Tigers of Kwangtung, who helped escort an important Qing rebel out of their hands. Ti Lung headlines with the Venom mob and others, but their story is cut short quick, with a short battle. The ending duels are well choreographed, but its the over-the-top kills at the end which makes this movie unique. Also, the huge star power helps too, even if they don't get enough screentime. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member old school kung fu from the masters, shaw brothers i just love their stuff! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Good fighting and choreography, interesting characters, and an overall fun experience. The only downside is that the story starts out really confusing because there are so many characters. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member He dropkicked that guys head clean off! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The righteous Ten Tigers of Kwangtung kill a vicious fighter in order to protect a Ching loyalist. Years later, their enemies plot to kill the remaining fighters and their sons in retaliation. The Ten Tigers of Kwangtung is a Shaw Brothers all-star event with roles filled by most of the studio's top performers from the late seventies including Ti Lung and all the members of the "Venoms" crew. While the story is a bit choppy, the presence of so many entertaining stars showcasing their credible martial arts skills is a treat too rare to miss out on.
