A complex plot where the cruxes are not bad or uninteresting. It is slow to progress and does take awhile to get into, but once doing so, curiosity piques interest to maintain focus and attention.

‘The Bay of Silence' has a number of problems. First of all, it starts out with a flashback scene that makes it too easy to guess at least part of the plot; secondly, there are two main stories that are competing with each other: how did their newly born son die and what is going with the main female character. Many twists, turns and red herrings are added along the way to keep things interesting, and whilst they do their job (it's never really boring), at the end of the day, it all seems to add up to less than the sum of its parts. It puts in all that effort to try to confuse you about what's going on and then fails to deliver a big surprise, the crescendo that you expect to arrive. Instead, it just sort of peters out.

This mom has a backstory that comes out after she stops taking her meds and their son mysteriously dies when she disappears with him. The movie tries to cram so many turns in, it loses its direction entirely.

L'incipit della storia e il montaggio del preludio che crea la trama sono semplicemente imbarazzanti e rovinano in maniera irreparabile la parte rimanente. Nel finale la sceneggiatura acquista qualità e imprevedibilità seppur toccando in maniera superficiale alcune tematiche molto delicate.

Seemed odd to me that all the secondary characters in the film were so nonchalant towards the father about wanting to know how his son died . Not a bad movie though but leans towards the side of mediocrity 2.8
