An embarrassment to the australian film industry. No suspense, no paranoia... The boyfriend attends TO Break up with Angela at her own dinner party instead of calling, and brings his new girlfriend... What the?? Yeh Very unrealistic. The new girl leaves when Angela is mean to her, Joel ignores the opportunity to dump angela and stays for some reason?? then angela out of jealousy poisons Joel And everyone goes home, unaware. Joel is a moron anyway, obviously.
That's the plot. Acting is sooo bad, script is slow. Everyone knows a couples suicide "pact" is gonna happen, but refuse to talk about it. Only the boyfriend doesn't know, and then he passes out and it's over. He doesnt even realize what's happened so the suspense just isn't there.
Not any action or blood or anything. Just a crazy suicidal girlfriend. Also unrealistic storyline. So boring and Frustrating how no one actually prevents Joel from dying or mentioned angelas plan to him even though he already was meant to know. it's just forced and unrealistic.

This is the problem with putting random movies on my Love Film list on the strengh of a one paragraph blurb... ropey acting, crap script and film school level of direction... How the director manage to turn a true story into something less believable than Star Wars is a feat of unentional Genius.

Indie Aussie drama about a dinner party where the host intends to carry out a suicide pact between her and her boyfriend, although her bf isn't exactly too keen on the idea. There's a missed opportunity for some very dark humour here, but it's all played straight in flashback as the various guests recall the events that played out that night. To be honest the pay off isn't worth the effort, and despite its best intentions it's actually a rather dull and plodding affair.

Considering they live in such a lovely country, why is it Australians make such miserable, dreary films?? A couple host a dinner party, but the guests are unaware that a suicide is planned. Or is it? Well acted, but boy is it depressing!!!
