Etta Place (Katherine Ross), erstwhile schoolteacher and close friend of notorious outlaws Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, goes on her own Western-themed adventure that sidesteps the straight and narrow. In the years after her lover, Sundance, met his fate in Bolivia, she finds herself in Mexico working as a gunrunner. Of course, Place doesn't transport weapons to just any wanted criminal, but to the legendary Pancho Villa (Héctor Elizondo), the great leader of the Mexican Revolution.
