Dowie G @Dowie Dec 3 I did not expect a $200M movie that we were all getting used to. That said, it was a refreshing film. From what I understand, this was a film school project by the Director, and I think he also wrote it. It seemed well done for 2010 as an early digital film, but the story was very predictable; honestly, I liked the few twists. I am guessing it was a team effort from production to casting, but I did notice a few actors were from a Disney show, and I thought they were great. I would have liked more horse presence, but it was about the story. I wonder if the film Director was a horse guy. Clearly, he likes the Midwest, and that's refreshingly different. By far the worst movie I've ever scene. The acting is atrocious, the plot is almost non-existent, the action is stilted, the sound is uneven. (Unless you want to shell out thousands of dollars for a new TV to replace the one the kids will be throwing their toys at or tens of thousands of dollars for therapy down the road) Thinking of buying this for the family video library? DEFINITELY DON'T! How the producer of this film persuaded Blockbuster or Red Box to distribute this turkey is hard to fathom. I can only suspect Michael had some dirt on executives at both companies and was ready to spill if they didn't set Wildfire free upon movie audiences. Bottom line: this film makes "Heaven's Gate", "Ishtar", "Gili" and "Plan 9 From Outer Space" look like high art. This film should only be used to induce vomiting in cases of accidental poisoning.
