praveen v Went because it was Hombale Films. Disappointing, Boring Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Amit S The movie is good and should be watched at least once. Everyone played their part well, but Abhishek Bachchan was great (seeing his other performances). The back story part of each lead was good but the last part seemed rushed and should have been given more time. Overall, a good watch and still relevant and fresh after almost 20 years. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/23 Full Review abhishek s A class film made by a class director! Packed with a power punch! Top notch performances by Abhishek Bachchan (maybe he saves his best for Mani Ratnam). Ajay Devgan is as brooding as he usually is. Kolkata looks beautiful. A must watch film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Mani Ratnam's hyperlink screenplay is probably the best thing in this film. His direction is equally commendable fusing student politics, romance, American dream, mafias & poverty. Terrific camera work by Ravi Chandran which gives a very raw feel to the film with Rahman's mesmerising score. Also commendable acting by 3 male leads. One great political thriller & Calcutta looks beautiful here. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Thrilling to the core! Ed Halter Village Voice Spins a tripartite tale around familiar Bollywood obsessions, here reinfused with new life via clever use of a Pulp Fiction structure. May 25, 2004 Full Review Dave Kehr New York Times Mani Ratnam's Bollywood feature has a sharp political edge that is rare in Hindi-language films. Rated: 3/5 May 20, 2004 Full Review Michael Dequina TheMovieReport.com Offers a lot more substance in both content and performance than most films, regardless of the nation of origin; that it is a product of an industry known for candy floss fluff makes it all the more noteworthy.
