The terrorist characters are completely unbelievable, especially the Americans who take money to kill thousands of innocent Americans and even the President of the United States. Complete BS and totally unbelievable. Shameful script and everyone who agreed to participate in this disgusting circus... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/17/23 Full Review Audience Member In its fourth season, 24 tries to be a soft reboot with only three returning cast members and CTU being given a makeover. It didn't work, so they bring back characters from past seasons whilst the ostensible series regulars end up leaving under different circumstances, with only two non-Jack Bauer ones sticking around till the end. There's also the issue of the plot going all over the place with an absurdly over-prepared villain who keeps escaping to the point that those moments might as well be scenes from a Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoon and a subplot with an annoying whiny kid that doesn't even get a proper resolution. Oh, and torture starts becoming a thing that would define the show's identity. Regardless, while the fourth season has more glaring flaws compared to its preceding three seasons, it still makes up for it with great performances, good action sequences, Jack Bauer remaining as badass as ever, some really effective scenes from both tearjerker and nightmare fuel standpoints and introducing new characters that will go on to become fan favourites. 24's attempts to start a clean slate after effectively resolving all the overarching plot threads last season didn't quite work out as well as hoped but Jack Bauer's fourth Day isn't a major television letdown either.
