Mike Hale New York Times One of the most important measures of success in fantasy is the ability to create a large, intricate and inviting parallel world... Watching the first season in sequence offers proof that Adventure Time does this as well as any current children's cartoon. Sep 24, 2018 Full Review Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times They are not the sort of cartoons they made when I was a boy, though they are in some ways the sort of cartoons they made when cartoons themselves were young and delighted in bringing all things to rubbery life. Sep 24, 2018 Full Review Leonard Pierce AV Club Often plays like a Dungeons & Dragons game run by a 13-year-old on a massive sugar high. Rated: B+ Sep 24, 2018 Full Review Matt Fowler IGN Movies The Land of Ooo itself is like an epic crayon sketch you might expect to find on an imaginative eight-year-old's chain restaurant kid's menu. Rated: 9/10 Sep 25, 2018 Full Review Louisa Mellor Den of Geek Pendleton Ward's animated fantasy series pulls you through a portal to the days of running home from school, sitting cross-legged inches from the TV, and being thoroughly delighted by a cartoon. Rated: 4/5 Sep 24, 2018 Full Review Emily Ashby Common Sense Media Older kids capable of getting the show's tongue-in-cheek, ironic, and referential humor will revel in the nonsensical fun, and are likely to be hooked by the sumptuous and surprisingly deep Adventure Time universe. james o the series was influenced by Dungeons & Dragons, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Jack Kirby, Calvin and Hobbes, Superjail! and Phineas and Ferb. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/03/25 Full Review Audience Member Season 1 for Adventure Time was good. I liked it. One of the funniest shows there is. 3/5 Stars from me! But the only reason I give Adventure Time a 3/5 Stars is because the Episodes are too long. I don't know why they put 2 Episodes into one. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/21/25 Full Review Kaiden C Awesome show I have been watching since I was a kid. I don't have much to say, the characters are well written and the show is entertaining.
