Donna H Excellent! Great cliff hangers and incredible acting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Ray P Season 1 was smart, well written, and had solid acting performances. Season 2 is poorly written, with many strange choices. The acting is still solid, except for Rob Yang - his monotone and complete lack of acting is a little annoying. But it seems like the writers went off on all these tangential threads in order to keep everyone involved, and half the personalities have completely changed from season 1. Too bad. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review Deb F Intense. Great characters. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review B. C After just a few episodes of season 2, you’ll find yourself asking how the first episode of the season wasn't telling enough. The plot continues but also goes from an automatic to a hard, clunky, standard-shifting clutch. The writing and elaborate branches from the main plot of season 1 make the smooth roads very rough and full of p(l)ot hole. When you see our sheriff protagonist (I think Daniels plays the protagonist) go from Buell to become a partnering detective in Pittsburgh…listen to your inner voice; bail. Season 1 may have not been perfect, but it has potential. Watching half the promising characters become broken or more-so detestable…not fun. It’s fun in some stories, but not this one. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Tim f I enjoyed both seasons. Season 2 was chaotic . In a satisfying way...I always looked forward to watching this. Another season! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Audience Member Amazing show, even better than season 1! The writers did a great job keeping it exciting and interesting. The ending is crazy and because of the way it went down iam hopeful they are planning for season 3. I'll keep my fingers crossed. A must watch! Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) There are a lot of balls being juggled in this narrative, which allows for a mechanical rhythm in part, but the performance of Maura Tierney (E.R.) continues to compel. Apr 11, 2024 Full Review Joshua Axelrod Pittsburgh Post-Gazette If the first season of American Rust was a slow burn, its sophomore outing may feel like a raging wildfire. Apr 12, 2024 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Despite good performances from Daniels and Tierney, American Rust: Broken Justice doesn’t make a case that a second season will be any more of a grim exercise than the first was. Mar 28, 2024 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Returning characters’ personality changes in the first half of the new season are necessary tweaks that help lift the show’s overall mood, which makes American Rust more entertaining and less depressing.
