The suave, confident and devastatingly handsome Sterling Archer may be the world's greatest spy, but he still has issues with his friends and colleagues who live to undermine and betray one another. Whether set in 1940s Los Angeles, the jungles of South America or the dangerous islands of the South Pacific, "Archer" is an animated comedy that spans time and place to navigate Sterling, Lana, Cheryl/Carol/Charlotte, Cyril, Pam, Ray and Krieger's misguided misadventures that range from attempting to save the world from nuclear disaster to selling illegal narcotics to Colombian cartels.

William Hughes AV Club Maybe that emphasis on putting a new shine on old fruit is fitting, since this does, indeed, feel just like an episode of Archer-only older. Rated: C Aug 27, 2021 Full Review Melanie McFarland Salon.com Season 12 maintains this restored momentum throughout the episodes made available to critics, and Walter is central to that. She's also irreplaceable, and that factor lends these episodes a slight sting. Aug 26, 2021 Full Review Harry Alexander Cultured Vultures It may be a little patchy at times, but Season 12 of Archer sees the spy saga justify its long run, and proves that the show is at its best when it plays to its true strength its characters. Rated: 7/10 Feb 10, 2022 Full Review Samantha Nelson IGN Movies The first two episodes of Archer season 12 demonstrate why the series has had such longevity, with its dysfunctional ensemble delivering hilarious dialogue amid international conflict and internal backbiting. Fabio C Wow, the return of the good old fun before the "coma" stories. RIP Jessica Walter... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/04/22 Full Review Audience Member I strongly believe s12 has the best ending in any sitcom I have seen so far, and if I was to think twice about that, I know I would be lying to myself. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member return to greatness. love the new characters. thoughtful ending for the malory archer character Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member [⭐️81%] Without having Archer's coma as a usable plot line anymore, season twelve returns to its fun missions, without much connectivity. Twelve seasons in and it still manages its sharp consistency, thanks to good writing. The seasons strongest moments didn't come till the finale which in itself was great, but it also managed a great send off for the late Jessica Walter, who has been a strong part of the cast since the start. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review andrei d Needs more time, more Pam Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Archer's best season in years, and not just because of its heartfelt send-off to Jessica Walter. While last season found the writers engaging with ideas that dealt with Archer dealing with his post-coma life, this year that dynamic is left on the back-burner, and the show feels closer to the spirit of its earlier years. Office-space humor and action-packed spectacle is the norm throughout these eight episodes, and long-time fans might even be surprised with some of the directions the writers go. Highlights this year include an origin episode that looks at Archer's first mission, as well as a finale that brings back uber-big-bad Barry, and is one of the most visceral conclusions in the show's history. Lastly, the late Jessica Walter (who fortunately was able to record most of her dialogue before her passing) sees her character Mallory get an ending that just feels right. Twelve seasons in, Archer is still one of television's most consistent comedies, and there's more than enough evidence here to suggest that it still has plenty more life in it!
