When Sara Hanley and Jack McAllister meet, the attraction is immediate despite that they are both married. Sara's husband, Drew, is an ambitious prosecutor who hopes to enter politics. Jack (also a lawyer) is married to Elaine, the daughter of his boss, Thatcher Karsten. Things grow more complicated when Jack and Drew land on opposite sides of a high-profile murder trial, just as Sara and Jack are starting an affair. Jack must defend his brother-in-law, charged in the crime, while Drew hopes to win in court and secure his political aspirations.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Plagued by a predictable story, lackluster writing, and uninspired acting, Betrayal is far less compelling -- even as a guilty pleasure -- than it ought to be.

John K About a mom who breaks all her commitments and turns into a selfish, self-centered slut. Her husband takes care of her and nutures her while she's injured. She shows her gratitude by going back to cheating. -5 stars.... I would have given this a higher rating if they killed the character off, just to show that there are consequences for screwing your family. I guess the writers are just as self-centered players as the lady (and I use that term very, very loosely because she is no lady).
