Eric Francisco Inverse Gorgeous and violent, Blood of Zeus reveals where the emerging scene of American-made anime is headed. Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Christopher L. Inoa Observer As in Castlevania, this series unleashes an over-abundance of bloody violence and gore. Gods, giants, humans and even birds meet gruesome ends; this series's specialty seems to be death by bifurcation. Nov 4, 2020 Full Review Mariló Delgado Espinof With a charismatic ensemble, this story has enough hooks to keep us entertained through a corkscrew journey across Greek mythology. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4.5/5 Aug 8, 2022 Full Review Shah Shahid Comic Years The hierarchy of the Gods and their own personal drama, fuelled by the looming demonic threat, and even more backstory is really where Blood Of Zeus excels. Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 12, 2020 Full Review James Hanton Starburst An awesome creative streak throughout all eight episodes ... is let down by a lack of surface-level and narrative detail that would set it apart. Rated: 3/5 Nov 11, 2020 Full Review Andres Cabrera Geeks of Color As a fan of Greek mythology, a lot of the fun was seeing the characterization of each god and wondering which side they would choose. London I've loved mythology of all kinds since I was a kid, but this show manages to make Greek mythology boring and repetitive. I couldn't even finish the show, and I don't know how something this hackneyed could get a second season. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Michael Antony A Mikey's TV Review: Blood Of Zeus (2020) If you're a child of the 70's, chances are you grew up watching the movies of Ray Harryhausen. His stop motion magic as seen in films such as Clash Of The Titans, Jason And The Argonauts and The 7th Voyage Of Sindbad, held us captive for hours and fired our young imaginations. Powerhouse Animation Studios latest foray for their unique brand of animation is a perfect blend of East meets West styles inspired by those same origin stories. Blood Of Zeus might be a bit bloodier and even sexier than those early films, but its heart and intention is the same. Infused with a definite Game Of Thrones* vibe (and the Empire Strikes Back), this is a vibrant retelling of some classic Greek Mythology, with a deep, complex lore that showrunners Charley and Vlas Parlapanides are obviously hoping will run for multiple seasons. The voice cast (including Claudia Christian as Hera, Derek Phillips as Heron, Jason O'Mara as Zeus and Elias Toufexis as) is excellent, while the animation is simple but breathtaking... Mikey's TV Rating: 4/5* 😊👍 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review David W As a huge fan of the Greek God myths I was very much looking forward to this, especially with Powerhouse at the helm. I wasn't at all dissapointed as this has hugely exceeded my expectations. An absolutely superb adaptation (re-imagining) that excels in all respects. A wonderful first series and I greatly look forward to more. Fantastic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/23 Full Review Jens B You'd have to try pretty hard to make the legends of Ancient Greece boring. "Blood of Zeus" succeeds in this. It's loud and obnoxious, the animation is subpar. (Later I found out this is from the guy who wrote "Immortals", so no surprise there..) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/23 Full Review luca j Gets a lot of points for the quality of the animation, I feel the characters are quite one dimensional, but the animation more than makes up for it Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Charlotte D Normally don't like anime but loved this show - definitely recommend Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a review
