The detectives of Brooklyn's 99th Precinct -- hotshot Jake Peralta, overachiever Amy Santiago, tough-as-nails Rosa Diaz, sweetheart Charles Boyle, devoted family man Sgt. Terry Jeffords and clueless best friends Scully and Hitchcock -- make up a loveable and offbeat squad that must get its act together when the office gets a new captain, the no-nonsense, unflappable Raymond Holt. Along with civilian office manager and social butterfly Gina Linetti, nothing will stop the crew from doing does what it does best -- bust the bad guys.

s.e. smith Bitch Media The final season was a chance for the show to engage in some systemic critique; its attempts to do so, however, largely fell flat... A soft-pedaled version of policing and the people who do it. Oct 20, 2021 Full Review Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe It was a warm-hearted, densely crafted comedy that was one of the networks' last decent originals. Fortunately, the two-part finale did the series justice, and you should check it out if you were ever a fan. Oct 20, 2021 Full Review Vikram Murthi AV Club "The Last Day" is far from Brooklyn Nine-Nine's finest hour, but it deserves credit for checking off every series finale box while telling a fun story without going overboard on saccharine material. Rated: B+ Oct 12, 2021 Full Review Valerie Ettenhofer Film School Rejects So far, its final season is very funny, and its certainly rewarding for longtime fans. Most importantly, its also growing, changing, and asking tough questions about its own premise up until the very last moment. Mar 30, 2022 Full Review Matt Roush TV Insider With one last caper, the wacky precinct that stole our hearts and tickled our funny bones signed off after eight seasons on two networks. As Jake would say: Noice. Jan 3, 2022 Full Review Alex Hudson Exclaim! This final season is an awkward combination of tones, as it aims to be both insightful and funny and ends up being neither. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/25 Full Review Pale H What a terrible ending to a once great show. Was I supposed to hate all these people now? All cops are bad now? Terrible. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/11/25 Full Review Obi-wan K 46% is A classified war crime Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Joshua N i dont have much to say but i have watched this show at least 3 times over and i can honestly say i loved the show and the ending, it was emotional and the perfect way to end a show as good and funny as this one. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review Reagan P Things are just political starting with people hating cops and characters leaving the show and are barely shown anymore this show use to be great but now its just less funny and more political. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/08/25 Full Review Caleb v I wish the entertainment industry would stick to creating quality content instead of diving into politics. The first seven seasons were fantastic—I thoroughly enjoyed them—but the eighth season was a disappointment. Mixing politics with comedy like this just doesn’t work. The show prioritized pushing a message over delivering genuine humor, relying instead on repetitive jokes and absurd storylines. If they had maintained the same approach as the earlier seasons, the finale would have been so much better. It deserved a stronger and more fitting conclusion.
