Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The most disappointing aspect of Californication's main story line---the on-going love affair between Hank and Karen is that Karen's sexcapades generally turn out to be lies that she tells Hank just to get him angry. Karen's only means of expressing her sexuality is either through spontaneous and regrettable sessions with Hank or within the confines of a marriage with her old professor. Meanwhile, Hank is having sex 3 or 4 times a day with the same amount of women, all of whom are disposable and replaceable figures in this man's life. The audience, however, is supposed to believe that Hank is truly in love with Karen and that all of his promiscuity is somehow not his fault; but, rather, the end result of being seduced incessantly by every woman who lays eyes on him. *Insert barf sounds*.
