      Season 3 – Casual

      2017 Comedy List
100% 8 Reviews Tomatometer 87% Fewer than 50 Ratings Audience Score You can go home again -- sort of. Bachelor Alex Cole finds himself living with his newly divorced sister in this Hulu original series. This time around, though, he and his sister are adults and they find themselves navigating the waters of the dating pool again -- all the while trying to raise Valerie's teenage daughter, who's also dipping her toes into the dating pool. Each one seems to have only casual relationships (hence the show's title): Valerie because she's newly divorced and trying to have fun; Alex because he's sort of a stereotypical bachelor who has yet to really grow up; and Laura, because she's a teenager. But the new living arrangement turns out to be a learning experience for everyone, punctuated, of course, by typical show devices (blind dates, one-night stands, parental visits, etc.) that lead to moments of hilarity, in between which nuggets of truth can be found. Previous Alan Sepinwall Uproxx The design of Casual suggests a show that shouldn't run forever, but after this season and this finale, I'd be very disappointed if I couldn't see what comes next. Jan 23, 2018 Full Review David Wiegand San Francisco Chronicle Casual remains very funny, but it has also become even more sophisticated in the third season. 4/4 May 19, 2017 Full Review Ben Travers indieWire For those of you sporting an anything-but-casual obsession with Hulu's delightful and insightful comedy series, let me tell you this about Season 3: It only gets better. A- May 17, 2017 Full Review Amanda Steinmetz TV Fanatic The complex bond between Alex and Valerie is what intrigued me. I've never seen a show portray an adult brother-sister relationship with so much humor and pain. 4.6/5 Feb 6, 2019 Full Review Jasper Pike TV Line The series' central family grows - both in emotional maturity and, potentially, in size - in the slow-burning conclusion of the Hulu comedy's stellar third season. Feb 6, 2019 Full Review Christopher James This resonant sibling dynamic would not be possible if it weren't for the nimble performances by Watkins and Dewey. 4/4 Nov 3, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews Next

Previous Audience Member Writing was already good but season 3 kicks it up a notch! The new roles for Judy Greer and (omg-so-good) Maya Erskine and finally good character development for Julie Berman (what took them so long?!?). Couldn't stop watching the episodes, s3 really flew by. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review harimohan i Wish the show had gone on for another two seasons. Third season was actually going great for a long haul Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/19 Full Review Audience Member Season 3, Episode 12: It's 1999 and Valerie and Alex play themselves for a flashback, but Drew has a more handsome younger version for his character. I never comment on things, but what were the directors thinking when they did this? Valerie and Alex should have younger versions of themselves because neither of them can pull off looking that much younger!! Stupid, stupid decision to keep the original 40-50 something year old actors that are supposed to be in their 20s and to make it worse, throw in a 20 year old to play Valerie's ex, Drew, along side her in the scene where she's telling him she's pregnant. Ridiculous! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Next Post a review
