A divorced mother must face the harsh realities of dating and aging in a youth- and beauty-obsessed culture. Having spent her 20s tackling the responsibilities of marriage and motherhood, she finds that her 40s are a journey of self-discovery amid friends, family and an ex-husband who all offer advice. Members of her dysfunctional but supportive extended family, "the cul-de-sac crew," include sarcastic confidante Ellie, across-the-street neighbor Grayson, feisty protege Laurie and witty son Travis.

Alan Sepinwall HitFix It's a pleasant surprise to still have the Cul-de-Sac Crew around - and to have the show still feel as clever and energized as it does. Jan 10, 2019 Full Review Allison Keene Collider The show's fifth season seems to have slowed things down ever so slightly though, allowing for a more relaxed feel instead of its typical manic pace. But Cougar Town's beloved absurdity is all in place. Jan 10, 2019 Full Review Les Chappell AV Club Season five lacks the recognizable momentum of prior seasons. This year has been an overall enjoyable run for the show, with consistent laughs and a few gut-punches here and there, yet there hasn't been a concrete arc you can point to Rated: B+ Jan 10, 2019 Full Review Nick McHatton TV Fanatic The cul-de-sac crew is back for another bottle of wine! Rated: 4.5/5 Jan 9, 2014 Full Review Sean Gandert Paste Magazine An excellent start to the season and one that signals that the creators may have more of an idea about what they're doing this time out of the gate. Rated: 7.4/10 Jan 9, 2014 Full Review Jessica Johnson Time Out Chicago Like a warm blanket, it's nice to cozy up to this show once again. Rated: 4/5 Jan 8, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Season 5 is already beginning to go down hill, still enjoyable for the fans but those who wish to can the show would not enjoy it Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The name of this show has nothing to do with the show at all, and is never really justified in the show either. It's certainly far from the top of my list but it's the kind of show you want to do well because Courtney Cox hasn't done anything worth remembering since Friends. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Just as great as it's always been. Still one of the definitive comedies on TV today. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member You gotta give this show a chance. It is written much like the old show "Soap". Very original but you have to listen tight as it moves at a pretty good clip. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
