"Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David plays a version of himself on the improvised series. He faces a constant barrage of life's little annoyances, which in David's sometimes well-meaning but terminally fumbling hands don't tend to stay small for very long. Episodes frequently center on his ignorance of or disregard for well-established social conventions and expectations, as well as his insistence that others adhere to rules of which only he seems to be aware. Developed from a 1999 one-hour special on HBO that was envisioned as a one-time project, the series premiered in October 2000.

Jason Bailey DVDTalk.com It must be stressed, after three paragraphs of reservations and complaints, that Curb Your Enthusiasm remains smart and wild and very, very funny. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 14, 2018 Full Review John Sellers TheWrap "Curb" can still go toe to toe with the funniest shows on television. Jun 14, 2018 Full Review Dorothy Rabinowitz Wall Street Journal Every season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" has been a testament to Mr. David's ingenious blend of high wit and low comedy. This one will be no exception. Lucas H EPISODIO FAV: "Palestinian Chicken" (8x3) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review dave d The final episode was a great one to end on. 'Curb' continues to push the envelope even to the end! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Larry David is a genius Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I would start off by saying that it is hard to make me laugh really hard. I am a very laid back person who loves to laugh and have a good time, but overall I only find certain things really funny. Flipping though TV channels night after night looking for something funny is a brutal task usually, since there is so much flat played out material out there. The same old concepts for every show. A group of friends hanging out who end up in relationships etc... So to say the least, its rare to find a unique show that is not only original but hilarious at the same time. This is where Larry David comes in. We all know Larry David as being the creator and brain behind Seinfeld for many years. Only seeing him once in a while and hearing his voice, never really fully seeing him in action. That's until Curb Your Enthusiasm. Lets start off by saying if your a fan of Seinfeld, its true, your going to like this show. If you could just put it pretty simple, I would say it is Seinfeld with a Rated R twist on it for HBO. Really pushing the boundaries of comedy. And it is absolutely hilarious. There is really no actual storyline that the show follows. There are things here and there thoughout the seasons that maintain throughout each season, but for the most part like Seinfeld, each episode kind of stands on its own. David is certainly not worried about who he offends. Not that he intentionally goes out of his way to offend people. But some of the things you may find offensive almost calls for you to step back and think that if you cant laugh at some of this stuff you need to lighten up. Even Michael J Fox gets in on the action in the season 8 finale as he becomes rival with Larry and goes head to head with him over using his Parkinson's disease as an excuse to get what he wants. Even Fox can laugh at this stuff. In the end it is brilliant. Most of the show just having an outline and the actors just going off no script and creating comedy genius on screen in front of us. I would even go as far as saying that Curb is better than Seinfeld, if not better, it is at least equal to it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Season 8, just like every other season of Curb, it really does not get any funnier than this show. Larry David is absolutely fearless with his comedy. Not caring one bit about who is offended. He takes things to the absolute extreme and it comes out funnier than anything that has been on TV or in movies since Seinfeld went off the air. Taking these little unwritten rules of society and exploding them out of proportion to create probably the most hilarious piece of comedic genius of all time. Season 8 is once again a can't miss. The highlight of the season is the finale where Larry battles with Michael J. Fox Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member (Review of entire series). Funny in a reasonably unique way. Written by and starring Larry David, who, with Jerry Seinfeld, created Seinfeld. David ostensibly stars as himself, though many of the details are not true to his own life for comedic reasons. Takes the Seinfeld idea of a show about nothing and ramps up the edginess and inanity. Being HBO, rather than mainstream TV, this show has a lot more freedom than Seinfeld in what it does and says. Very funny and quotable. The episodes often skirt a line between the possible - many incidents could happen in real life - and the downright ridiculous. Not as good as Seinfeld though. Due to concentrating on four characters, rather than one, Seinfeld had more sub-plots in each episode, thus more dimensions to it. Seinfeld always had a warmth about - everything was okay in the end - while Curb Your Enthusiasm revels in unhappy endings, crankiness and mean-spiritedness. Does deliver some amazingly creative scenarios and skits though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
