Dexter Morgan is a Miami-based blood splatter expert who doesn't just solve murders; he commits them too. In fact, he's a serial killer -- but he only murders the guilty, so he feels justified with his lifestyle choices. His policewoman sister and his cop co-workers have no idea Dexter lives a double life; however, adoptive father Harry knows his secret, and does, in fact, help Dexter hone his "skills." It's a unique brand of justice for which charming Dexter feels a psychological hunger.

Mike P So everyone's favorite ginger-psychopath is back; in Dexter Part Deux...And Dexter's not really a serial killer per se; he's just a hyper-violent, hyper aggressive VIGILANTE...He's Dirty Harry with a butcher knife!...And this Sophomore Season rolls along with considerable style and panache!...(Maybe even more than the maiden season did!)..And Michael Hall inhabits the role better, now..The character has more dimension; and the story is more dynamic this go round...As the walls close in on Dexter's world, and the FBI organizes a big task force to capture the "Bay Harbor Butcher"; (him); right about the time he starts settling down with Rita, and finally finds some happiness in his life...Ironically...And so the whole thing comes together quite nicely, this go round...My only complaint is that there sure are alot of Serial Killers in town!..To a ridiculous degree! As the antagonist in the show is the whole Miami Metro PD. Doakes was also a big part of this and is the main antagonist. This season had a different goal as the previous season. And its great. With the difficulty of Dexters and Ritas relationship and trying to find a way to not get caught and end up in death row this show doesnit well. With Lila as well in the mix it makes it somewhat better with Dexter getting revenge on Lila during 2x12.
