Is there a dyspeptic doctor in the house? Successful surgeon Dr. Martin Ellingham abruptly leaves his London practice to become general practitioner in the sleepy fishing village of Portwenn, where he spent the holidays during his youth. But his luxury car and lavish wardrobe immediately rub the locals the wrong way, and once they get a load of his abrasive attitude and lack of bedside manner, he quickly alienates most of the townsfolk.

Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times While very much a familiar sort of construction, it is exquisitely made, funny and maddening at once and always nice to look at. Feb 5, 2019 Full Review Euan Ferguson Guardian A tragedy stuck inside a comedy, as so many fine British comedies have ever been at heart. Feb 5, 2019 Full Review Michael Hogan Daily Telegraph (UK) It's so gentle that it could end by simply nodding off. Rated: 3/5 Feb 5, 2019 Full Review David Stephenson Daily Express (UK) At the top of its game. So much so it would put car mechanics out of business. Feb 5, 2019 Full Review Christopher Stevens Daily Mail (UK) The show's reliance on its stock characters has worn thin. Rated: 2/5 Feb 5, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
