Caroline Siede Girl Culture (Substack) There’s no question that season four is the most consistent in quality of the Tennant era, bolstered by the truly phenomenal chemistry between its two leads. Nov 26, 2023 Full Review Alasdair Wilkins AV Club "Planet Of The Dead" plays like just another day at the office for Tennant's Doctor, a fact that is as good an indication as any that it was the right time to begin his era's endgame. Rated: A Jun 15, 2018 Full Review Patrick Mulkern Radio Times It was the culmination of everything that was great about the [Russell T Davies] period: wit, spectacle, surprise, emotion... Rated: 5/5 May 7, 2019 Full Review Ben Rawson-Jones Digital Spy Thankfully, a winning mixture of elation and poignancy ensured that the season achieved a great tonal balance where neither light nor dark was allowed to fully overwhelm the other. Rated: 4/5 Jun 15, 2018 Full Review Travis Fickett IGN Movies Tate grew on me quickly, and acquitted herself quite nicely. It was fun to see someone go head to head with The Doctor rather than look upon him adoringly. Rated: 7.5/10 Jun 15, 2018 Full Review Alexander Joenks Pajiba This is the best of the series so far, I think, though there are better standalones and finales scattered through the rest of the series. Fan O While no season is perfect, this one is a banger after banger. Donna is a joy to watch, and her arc is powerful. Turn Left is one of my all time favorites, and while I have my issues with it the finale was well built up and genuinely hype. The Sontaran two parter is a bit weaker then the rest of the season, but Martha's presence more then makes up for it, as well as Donna's family's. The Unicorn and the Wasp is a bit disappointing, but episodes like The Fires of Pompeii and Silence in the Library are some of the best the show has put out. Midnight is a strong character piece, and Planet of the Ood could only improve by being more scathing then it already was. Can not recommend this season enough, flaws and all. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/25 Full Review James M Yet again, the best series of dr who modern era just watch it and you’ll see why the chemistry is perfect and great story arc and the best overall. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review ben s The goat of modern television. No bad episodes, great chemistry between actors, great acting in general. Tennant at his best, rtd at his best with the stolen earth being the best episode of Doctor who ever, followed by heaven sent. I cannot sell it to you enough. I'd sell a kidney for doctor who to be like this again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/05/24 Full Review Vincent R I really like David Tennant and Catherine Tate's acting. This was actually the first Doctor Who series I ever watched. And I'm glad that they brought them back for the 60th Anniversary of Doctor Who Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/04/25 Full Review Justin B Finally, the season when the Tennant era found consistency and brilliant chemistry between its leads. Tennant and Tate are iconic and bring a new dynamic to The Tardis, as the storylines remain strong throughout the entire season. Brave, bold and bombastic. The best of the RTD era. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Asf A super! nothing more to say Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
