Carissa Pavlica TV Fanatic There are some really great things happening in Doctor Who Season 7, and the addition of Clara Oswin Oswald could turn out to be one of the most monumental characters in the show's history. Rated: 4.8/5 Mar 10, 2020 Full Review Patrick Mulkern Radio Times It's clever, fast, funny, eerie, surprising and tearjerking - all in one spectacularly polished package. And Steven Moffat steps over 49 years of Dalek baggage to make them fresh and menacing again. Rated: 5/5 Mar 25, 2019 Full Review Mark Snow IGN Movies 50 years in, we're happy to take a season that - while conceptually, sporadically wonky - succeeded in keeping us just as excited for what happens next as ever. Rated: 7.9/10 Dec 12, 2018 Full Review Nick Setchfield SFX Magazine Matt Smith continues to refine his infinitely charismatic take on the Time Lord. He's still capable of channeling a giddy, boyish sweetness, of course, but he seems newly ancient and suspicious. Rated: 5/5 Dec 12, 2018 Full Review Will Wade Common Sense Media Though the low budget can show in the CG effects at times, the entertaining stories and iconic protagonist has inspired a cult following that has lasted for years. Rated: 4/5 Dec 2, 2013 Full Review Peter Canavese Groucho Reviews In the penultimate batch of episodes before Doctor Who's jubilee year, executive producer Steven Moffat continues to marvel with his ability to keep the time-and-space-travelling Doctor in ever-so-complicated trouble. Fan O Every episode this season had major complaints but some, and while I don't share all of them, you feel that when watching. That doesn't stop it from having it's many good moments, The Angels Take Manhattan is heartbreaking and The Rings of Akhaten beautiful. The Day of the Doctor wouldn't work a quarter as well without it, but it's one of the weakest seasons. Clara is at least an enjoyable new character, in the episodes where she actually has a personality. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/20/25 Full Review James M Some great moments and some bad moments. Clara is a great addition as the new companion and her 2nd appearance is the best version of her character. The new tardis is amazing, and I love the doctors new outfit. The rings of Akhaten is a brilliant episode especially with that speech and Murray gold music. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review Kyle W OK, so Matt Smith is a quirky take on the Doctor, but bring Jenna Coleman along for the ride and this is a winning formula for me. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review Justin B A choppy and uneven series that despite some highs and the introduction of the beautiful and charming Clara Oswald and the mystery that surrounds her, feels lacklustre. Smith continues to charm and inject real depth into his Doctor, moving effortlessly from confident to devastated to intrigued. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Mikhail E Best Season ever in Tv show history a masterpiece Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/25/23 Full Review Asf A this season has its ups and downs but all episodes are good Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
