I think some of this season can be a bit boring in the middle, with Oxygen being another Vincent and The Doctor for me where I like quite a lot of it but think a good chunk of it isn't quite captivating enough, and Eaters of Light just didn't grab me. All the same, episodes like The Pilot, Extremis, and the finale make it impossible to give this anything but 5 stars. Bill is a wonderful character throughout and she will remain one of my favorite companions for years to come. Missy's story this season was nothing short of exceptional, and it captured someone who wanted to change for someone extremely well. Smile is an episode I could recommend to anyone, and despite my early comments episodes like Knock Knock are not worth skipping even if I don't think they are as amazing as the highlights.

While the consistency of the stories may not be as good as previous seasons, its finale, Capaldi’s performance and his relationship with new companion, Bill Potts carry the season. Hewing close to the original series in tone and narrative thrust, season 10 has a lot to love. It also is the first season that felt tired and that the show needed a new head writer and a reinvention.

Capaldi had a LOT of potential as a real fan of the show, but the writers clearly hate the show. "Bill Potts" character was just "diversity" in human form, not given "character".

Although this was not my favorite series of Capaldi's era, there are several episodes that are worth watching. Now that DW has been utterly destroyed - first under Chibnall and now with RTD's "The Message" nonsense - this series is looking better by comparison.
