"Doctor Who" is a classic science-fiction series with a cult following. The Doctor is called a "Time Lord," a time-traveling scientist from a far-off planet who travels through time and space in a shop known by the acronym TARDIS. A TARDIS is a machine that is larger on the inside than the outside and is supposed to change its appearance based on its surroundings. The Doctor is also able to evolve his biology, so he appears as many different people throughout the series. The Doctor loves Earth, so he makes many trips here to save the planet, or to enlist earthlings to help him with tasks in the galaxy.

Christopher Bahn AV Club At least in the five First Doctor tales I've covered so far here, I've been generally impressed by how non-draggy they are, and "Time Meddler" keeps things moving despite its relatively simple plotline Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Cliff Chapman Den of Geek The Rescue and The Romans see Hartnell at the top of his game; a compelling, unique lead of the like you'd never get today. Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Ross Ruediger Bullz-Eye.com "The Romans" reaches for something greater than most of the era in which it was produced. Rated: 4/5 Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Charlie Jane Anders io9.com The second Dalek story is a lot more fun than the first, with a ton of crazy plot devices thrown together to create a weird, wild ride. Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Simon Brew Den of Geek The problem here though is that the story of The Time Meddler doesn't effectively cover four episodes, and while it's got some nice ideas... and punched above its budgetary weight, it's not a vital purchase off the back of the story itself. Rated: 2/5 Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Arnold T. Blumberg Den of Geek Despite the obvious budgetary limitations and typically stylized acting of the BBC actors of the time in a period piece, "The Time Meddler" benefits from a truly dynamic match-up between the seemingly reinvigorated Hartnell and Peter Butterworth. Rated: 7/10 Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Jason B Possibly the singles greatest season of Doctor Who Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review Wolfgang B More regrettably missing stories, but what remains is mostly ok. Dalek Invasion is a highlight Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Audience Member While still having the odd tedious story, the second season steps up it's game considerably and manages to produce some absolute gems for the Hartnell era, namely with it's historical affairs i.e. 'The Romans', 'The Crusade' and 'The Time Meddler' Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Another really fun season. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member An improvement to the first season, this instalment to the series sees the doctor and his friends go on greater adventures through space and time. The actors settle into their characters well and the writing improves, and the introduction to new companions keeps the series fresh and exciting. A must for any Whovian. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A sure improvement over the previous season, with some of Hartnell's best work and truly amazing stories.
