"Doctor Who" is a classic science-fiction series with a cult following. The Doctor is called a "Time Lord," a time-traveling scientist from a far-off planet who travels through time and space in a shop known by the acronym TARDIS. A TARDIS is a machine that is larger on the inside than the outside and is supposed to change its appearance based on its surroundings. The Doctor is also able to evolve his biology, so he appears as many different people throughout the series. The Doctor loves Earth, so he makes many trips here to save the planet, or to enlist earthlings to help him with tasks in the galaxy.

Christopher Bahn AV Club If "The Tenth Planet" is a deliberate confrontation with the Cybermen, that completes the transformation. He'll always be a rogue, but now he's our rogue. Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Andrew Blair Den of Geek The animation does great work here, unsettling and eerie. Mar 6, 2019 Full Review Chris Gardner The Post NZ It's not one of Doctor Who's finest hours, the story feels a little drawn out over the two hours, although Troughton's performance as the Doctor is unfaulted. Mar 6, 2019 Full Review Paul Mount Starburst As 1960s Doctor Who goes, The Underwater Menace really isn't much cop. Mar 6, 2019 Full Review Mark Braxton Radio Times Top marks to Dudley Simpson for his most evocative score. Rated: 5/5 Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Cameron K. McEwan GQ Magazine [UK] The Underwater Menace wasn't quite a menace... Also, the Fish People look like Blue Peter competition entries. Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Wolfgang B The introduction of the Cybermen and a strong Dalek story back to back are a solid peak for this season, which fizzles out somewhat, but this and the following season are the show really finding it's niche Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A brilliant send off to Hartnell and pretty strong start to the Troughton era. The Dalek stories are some of the most menacing well written in the show ('Power' and 'Evil'), and we get to see the emergence of my favorite Who monster of all time in my favorite story of all time in the intelligent and unrelenting 'The Tenth Planet' Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The second doctor is a lot a fun and is in my opinion better than the first doctor Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Season 4 of Doctor Who sees the first reincarnation of the Doctor as William Hartnell is replaced with Patrick Troughton. It's a groundbreaking moment in television history, still, it isn't without flaws. Although the new Doctor is younger and much more energetic, it takes a while for him to settle into the role of the quirky time-traveller. That and the fact that the stories and the Doctor's new companions, Ben and Polly, are a little forgettable, does not help things along. Still, Patrick Troughton's version of the Doctor remains one of the best so can't wait to see what's to come. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member An incredible run of stories that helped define doctor who for over 50 years. A true turning point in a classic series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member In a cinematic first, "Doctor Who" transforms its show entirely! With household name William Hartnell's health failing and his ability to perform going downhill, the showrunners do the unthinkable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
