"Doctor Who" is a classic science-fiction series with a cult following. The Doctor is called a "Time Lord," a time-traveling scientist from a far-off planet who travels through time and space in a shop known by the acronym TARDIS. A TARDIS is a machine that is larger on the inside than the outside and is supposed to change its appearance based on its surroundings. The Doctor is also able to evolve his biology, so he appears as many different people throughout the series. The Doctor loves Earth, so he makes many trips here to save the planet, or to enlist earthlings to help him with tasks in the galaxy.

Christopher Bahn AV Club Season seven, Jon Pertwee's first year as the Third Doctor, made a point of pushing at those boundaries, starting by grounding him on Earth, unable to fly the TARDIS and forced to work with an anti-alien military taskforce, UNIT. Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Paul Mount Starburst Quite simple, brilliant, and quite simply unmissable. Rated: 5/5 Mar 13, 2025 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies The Fourth Doctor is still my favorite, but Pertwee’s reign is chock full of charm, taking some wild chances for the early 1970s. Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 20, 2024 Full Review Arnold T. Blumberg IGN Movies "The Silurians" ends with one of the more arresting images in the series' history - the Doctor thoroughly defeated, not by a monster, but by his friend and ally. It would never really be this dark again. Rated: 7/10 Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Andrew Blair Den of Geek Season seven might be an anomaly in terms of tone and style, but what a great anomaly it is. Rated: 4/5 Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Julian White Starburst The story is actually rather good, a reasonably sophisticated mix of high echelon conspiracy, fraught first contact and creature shock. The trouble is, too many of the individual twists and turns depend upon UNIT's proven inability. Rated: 6/10 Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
