Troy Patterson The New Yorker The tone of the jokes converts everyday despair into sublime foolishness. May 9, 2020 Full Review Stuart Heritage Guardian At one point she fosters a child to work as her assistant. She's precisely as awful as every scheming antihero from the golden age of TV, and it's brilliant. Jan 11, 2019 Full Review Alan Sepinwall HitFix I found that, no matter what stage the friendship was in, I didn't laugh out loud all that much at any of the episodes, though I was pleased overall by the leads and surreal worldview. Rated: B- Apr 11, 2012 Full Review Randy Dankievitch Processed Media Apt 23 is a surprisingly sharp comedy. Rated: B- Feb 14, 2020 Full Review Kate Knibbs io9.com Get past the annoying theme song and hackneyed "updated lady Odd Couple" premise, and the writing is sharp and a little vicious. It was surprisingly ribald and black-hearted for network TV. Jan 11, 2019 Full Review Gabrielle Bondi The Young Folks Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 is severely lacking in wit, which essentially a show like this would need to survive. jerry r I watched 10 minutes of the pilot eposide and turned it off. A terrible show, cannot understand a damn thing. It goes around and around, making no sense. Not a clue why any company would sponsor a piece of crap like this. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/02/25 Full Review Audience Member I avoided this show for a long time because it seemed ridiculous, but once I caved in and watched a few episodes I was hooked. I wish it had been continued it is a great show. I love how James Van Der Beek makes fun of himself. All of the characters are so funny, even the pervy neighbor. Everyone needs to watch this one it is fabulous. The actors do a wonderful job, and there are some very entertaining cameos.
