After substance abuse and insanely self-destructive and obnoxious behavior throw a knuckle ball at his Major League Baseball career, former pitcher Kenny Powers retreats to his North Carolina hometown, where he takes a job teaching physical education at the middle school he once attended. But another chance at potential big league stardom -- or so he thinks -- takes Kenny "down Mexico way," where he thrills the locals as only he can before he returns to the U.S. a changed man. Or is he? The colorful and frequently profane sitcom comes from executive producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, among others, and stars Danny McBride ("Tropic Thunder").

Nathan Rabin AV Club Kenny isn't just a cult hero; he's a legend. I suspect and hope that his hero's journey is far from over. Rated: A May 10, 2018 Full Review Joshua Alston Newsweek There's just as much rich comedy in deploying Kenny's bull in Mexico's China shop, and it takes a lot more cojones. Feb 7, 2018 Full Review William Thomas Empire Magazine [eastbound] is a funny, filthy comedy. Rated: 4/5 Oct 31, 2017 Full Review Andre Dellamorte Collider The second season does great things with Stevie's character, having him find love and the consequences of it. Jun 4, 2018 Full Review Jim Scott Under the Radar Changing the setting of the show completely is a bold move and exposes the deep ruts of most shows currently on television. Braden W It manages to be hilarious and yet has some pretty deep scenes and messages. Each character has their own well written flaws and struggles. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/03/25 Full Review Topi L It has got a lot more funny scenes and the guest characters are the one that makes this one watchable. But it still has got the same lead as the first season had. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/30/23 Full Review C.S.R In my opinion it's the funniest show of all time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review slyc3 super interesting plot, especially in the better half of this season Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/22 Full Review Audience Member Without a doubt the best season of any television series in human history (sorry 8th season of The Simpson's); no if's, and's or (big ole) buts. Part raunchy comedy, part spaghetti western, part heartwarming redemption story, this season is a true epic in the vein of Arabian Lawrence and The Dozen Commandments. The most impressive aspect of this journey is the music. From the opening horns that conjure the spirit of Ennio Morricone to its use of the Black Keys, there is not a single sonic misstep. The performances need no mention but I'll do it anyway. Everyone turns the performances of their lives. If you don't agree with me then you need to wash off the paint and reveal to the world the jackass that is hiding beneath. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review dave d More entertaining than Year 1.. but there's a lot missing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
