What to Know

Critics Consensus

Easy encapsulates the exploration of gender roles, love and family in true mumblecore fashion, often giving rise to moments that feel raw, intimate and un-meditated.

Jacob Clifton Austin Chronicle What we find -- the hidden grace, the beauty -- in these eight stories is a moment, a hinge in the conflict, where honesty and openness can win the day. May 9, 2019 Full Review Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya Autostraddle "Vegan Cinderella" most effectively accomplishes Easy's clear desire to paint honest and visceral depictions of love. May 9, 2019 Full Review Mike Hale New York Times If Easy doesn't work for you as drama, it's at least a touching love poem to a city. Sep 27, 2016 Full Review Julie Krzanowski The Mary Sue It's hard for me to hate the show, because it is lovely in other ways: the normalcy of queer relationships, the subtle feminism, the way friendships blossom and manifest. But I cannot overlook its treatment of assaulted women. May 9, 2019 Full Review Daniel Kurland Den of Geek The biggest takeaway that Easy left me with is that its individual stories are effective and engaging in the moment, but the series as a whole doesn't really stand out or make that much of an impact. Rated: 3/5 May 9, 2019 Full Review Antonio R. Jiménez Espinof The lack of forcefulness of a series presented as a representation of our time convulsed the definitive sentence of anonymity. Ryan K Easy-watching, comedic, anthology series. Each episode involves the characters being placed into a relatable situation. The conflict is generally resolved by the end of the episode. The writing is realistic, and the acting is believable. The problem is that most episodes aren't terribly interesting even if they are realistic. Many of the episodes just end suddenly which can be a bit jarring. Overall, I would recommend Easy if you want to watch an uncomplicated show that doesn't require much thought. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/23 Full Review Carter F I don't understand why anyone wants to watch a very unattractive man have horrible less then a minute sex with his wife with no foreplay or talking or touching, where he just gets up afterwards and walks off , and her character is HAPPY about this . She is so grateful her mopey , sloppy , fat husband treats her as nothing more then a receptacle, that she happily makes him pancakes the next day in gratitude! This makes my blood boil ! That people think this is good and " real " shows how warped peoples views can be . The reality is if this was REAL the wife would have felt horrible, been frustrated her husband doesn't care at all about her pleasure , and knows nothing about how to please her . She would want to cry or be furious, not be happy and make pancakes in gratitude! She would maybe be staying with this gross sad sack horrible man for the sake of the kids . The next story about woman going to ridiculous lengths to pretend to be something she is not for new girlfriend is just dumb . The only positive is they are both very attractive.
