What to Know

Critics Consensus

Easy continues to apply a breezy approach to high-minded ideas in its second season, unfurling self-contained tales of mundanity that shine thanks to reliably terrific actors and gently humane writing.

Neal Justin Minneapolis Star Tribune In early episodes, Chi-town characters deal with the consequences of an open marriage and whether performing burlesque is an act of feminism -- topics creator Swanberg approaches without pretension or fuss. May 9, 2019 Full Review Emily Nussbaum The New Yorker In the worst stories, like a truly irksome doubleheader about artisanal breweries, the characters resemble the "Portlandia" ensemble, minus the satire. But even the best are full of passionate banality. May 9, 2019 Full Review Meaghan Garvey Chicago Reader Easy's full-on individualization of perspective comes at the expense of any real consideration of Chicago's broader structural realities. And it's this stubbornly small-stakes focus that ultimately makes Easy feel somewhat false. May 9, 2019 Full Review Morgan Jeffery Digital Spy Easy is of a very particular flavour and won't be for everyone, and as with every anthology series the quality from episode to episode can be variable, but when it's at its best, the show is smart, charming and makes you think. Dec 3, 2018 Full Review Katie Herzog The Stranger (Seattle, WA) It's nuanced, complex, intimate, funny, and reaches far beyond the superficial. My only complaint? Eight episodes just aren't enough. Jan 5, 2018 Full Review Chris Osterndorf The Daily Dot Easy is Swanberg's best work. There are times this show is too improvisational and falls flat. But as a serialized TV series, Easy is an insightful and realistic look at dating and relationships. Dec 21, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Ryan K Realistic exploration of sexuality and social issues. A number of the plot lines are continued from the first season. The writing is still sharp, and the characters are believable. The show still struggles in many episodes to balance the realism with entertainment, but there are some exceptional episodes that will keep you fixed to your seat. If you enjoy season 1 of Easy, then you will enjoy season 2. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Prodigal Daughter. I have to write this because all the sexual stuff aside in the other episodes Prodigal Daughter deals directly with a topic avoided more than porn in the public film world , religion. Well done.
