Sam Wollaston Guardian It is, nevertheless, very charming, in an understated-English kind of way. It also remains in keeping with the spirit of Morse, and is certainly superior to its sequel. Oct 29, 2018 Full Review Ellen E Jones Independent (UK) If you thought John Thaw's Morse was improbably clever, his younger self in this Sixties-set prequel really does test credulity - and not just the viewer's. Oct 29, 2018 Full Review Tim Martin Daily Telegraph (UK) It's rare that a TV programme actually makes me doubt my own sanity, but the bundle of demented revelations that crowned the return of Endeavour had me convinced that I must either be losing it or have fallen asleep somewhere in the previous 90 minutes. Rated: 2/5 Oct 29, 2018 Full Review Gem Wheeler Den of Geek Like all prequels, Endeavour faces a problem: how to satisfy Morse aficionados without alienating new viewers. Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Fascinating are Argento-esque touches that emphasize menacing black-gloved killers and macabre weaponry, but Series 2 doesn't have the energy to follow through on this promising development, content to tease and back away. Rated: B- Sep 27, 2014 Full Review Maysa Hattab PopMatters The new series features plenty of opera and wordplay for aficionados. Rated: 7/10 Jun 30, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
