"Endeavour" follows the newly forged relationship -- both working and personal -- between young DC Endeavour Morse and his senior partner, DI Fred Thursday. Returning actors include Shaun Evans as Endeavour and Roger Allam as Thursday, while Sean Rigby takes on the role of a young PC Strange -- the character who appeared in the original "Morse" series, played by James Grout. Abigail Thaw, the daughter of the first Inspector Morse, John Thaw, makes further guest appearances as Dorothea Frazil.

Andrew Collins Guardian I knew already that Endeavour was clever and threw forward to Morse, but this was a level of metatextuality that had previously passed me by. Oct 29, 2018 Full Review Gem Wheeler Den of Geek Endeavour's always played with literary references, and this episode's allusions to The Great Gatsby stand out. Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Sean Axmaker Seanax.com The corruption of past seasons is played down while Morse becomes more of a tragic figure as he struggles with his fear of emotional connection. Our S The series started of excellent with no politics or agenda undertones then season 3 it went down hill. Think of the audience very few like what's going on today hence the massive decline in ratings and audience. The primary driver of our social distortion is the garbage on tv, media and in movies. It's got to be rough for the actors to go along and defend the garbage to keep their jobs. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Endeavour is the best series on television. Expertly written, perfectly acted, and with excellent production values, the series is jam packed with mystery, humor, character, and substance. The pilot alone could be a contender for any award going, including an Oscar if it had been a big screen offering. Nothing in America can touch it quality. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant. Evans is fantastic as a young Morse well supported by Allam. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
