      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Thanks in part to a memorable dual performance from Ewan McGregor, Fargo mostly maintains the sly wit and off-kilter sensibility it displayed in its first two seasons.

Sam B One of the best seasons of Fargo! Loved the performances of Ewan McGregor! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review R. G First two were great. Some great acting in number three but a few ridiculous scenes and a lousy ending. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Adam F Watchable, but not near as good as the first two seasons. The meandering step grandfather backstory is clunky and serves no purpose but to fill time and slow the pace of the early episodes to a crawl. The pointless bulimia scenes felt like a desperate attempt to add some color to the worst villain choice to date. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review cédric f When the actors are good, they could sell you anything. Some flaws in this season but the cast is incredibily excellent ! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/24 Full Review Matthew S Season 3 does not let the viewer down at all! Fargo continues it's mayhem into this season without any brakes. It is wonderful, bloody but wonderful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Darren R Halfway into episode 4 of season3 and I'm ready to turn it off. Season 1 was so damn good that it's damn near impossible to better it. Season 2 was ok but Jesus did it drag on. The writers and directors are trying too hard to be edgy and witty with season 3 but are failing miserably. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Geordie Gray The Australian It’s murder and mild manners in Minnesota. Nov 6, 2023 Full Review Andrew Billen Times (UK) Fargo's creator, Noah Hawley, took us on many diversions this season: into the past, into the woods, into action movie territory. Yet it was the comedy of character we will remember. Rated: 4/5 Dec 28, 2017 Full Review Alison Herman The Ringer Season 3 seemed like it had finally, decisively broken from its predecessors on both TV and in film - particularly when Mary Elizabeth Winstead's scammer emerged as the season's complicated, gray-area-dwelling hero. Aug 15, 2017 Full Review Victor Pineyro Seventh Art Studio The "how" is above the "what" in Fargo. Season 3 is the closest the timeline has been to us, yet it complies perfectly around the feelings of discomfort and unrest the show is known for. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 8/10 Jun 23, 2022 Full Review Nathan Mattise Ars Technica Fargo eschewed being a straight sequel or adaptation and instead opted to create a world that shared the original's ethos and sensibilities (occasionally adding some connective overlap, too). Jul 28, 2021 Full Review Preston Barta Fresh Fiction Compared to the kinetic energy of the previous season, series creator Noah Hawley simplifies his narrative this round, but the intrigue still remains.
