New York's star medical examiner, Dr. Henry Morgan, doesn't study the dead only to help solve criminal cases. Born 200 years ago, he hopes his work also will help solve mysteries about his own mysterious immortality. The remarkable observational skills he has developed over his long life impress his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez, and as they get to know each other, more of his colorful past slowly reveals itself -- even as he continues to keep his long life secret from everyone except his best friend and confidant, Abe.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Forever star Ioan Gruffudd is appealing, but his charm can't overcome the show's gimmicky, unrealized premise.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/04/24 Full Review Kathi M I loved it - was absolutely worth every second. They had enough to do a Season 2....but honestly - they wrapped up season 1 perfectly. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review Patricia W I thought this was an excellent show. I can't for the life of me understand WHY they didn't renew it. Just 1 season...😔...that is very upsetting..I give it 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I can't believe I didn't know about it when it came out but at least I found it & have watched it now. Just Sooooo disappointing that there isn't more seasons💔. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review John S A spectacularly creative detective show that always trots out an interesting and original case every episode. The additional of an immortal protagonist is well done and leads to many beautifully heartfelt interpersonal plots. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/26/23 Full Review Audience Member It is an amazing show, I am really sad they did not continue. there is a touch of class in each movement of this show, the way of concluding and reaching the results is tremendous.
