Dr. Frasier Crane, a successful Boston therapist, moves to Seattle to get a new start on life; he has a radio talk show, which he uses to relay his wit and wisdom to others, but at times he struggles with his own problems with his salt-of-the-earth father, his pretentious brother and his friends and co-workers.

After successfully sidestepping the pitfalls of a television spinoff in its first season, Frasier fully asserts its identity as a riotous ensemble farce.

Susan Stewart Detroit Free Press For all its sophistication -- and the sparring matches between Kelsey Grammer's pompous shrink and his waspish brother are as elegant as TV gets -- Frasier owes its biggest laughs to physical comedy. Feb 16, 2022 Full Review Ken Parish Perkins Chicago Tribune Frasier continues its deliciously funny pace... While some viewers may find Frasier's arch snobbery offensive, the series goes further and digs deeper to deliver rare doses of thoughtfulness. Feb 16, 2022 Full Review David Bianculli New York Daily News Not since the great Jack Benny has TV seen such a great reactive comedian as Pierce, and whenever he and Grammer share the same stage, Frasier is undiluted magic. Feb 16, 2022 Full Review Jennifer L. Stevenson Tampa Bay Times The cast gets better all the time, as does the writing. Feb 16, 2022 Full Review James Endrst Hartford Courant Producer/writers David Angell, Peter Casey and David Lee turn the show into a sizzling sparkler of one-liners, insights into character, plays on words, surprise and unexpected physical comedy. Apr 21, 2020 Full Review Alan Pergament Buffalo News The entire cast is used well, and [Kelsey] Grammer is at his hammy best sweetening a script that falters only when it relies on multiple double entendres. Andrew B This is a go to classic for intellectual humor while building upon continuing story arcs and having solid stand alone episodes. Frasier is one of the best TV series ever made. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Robert L Again excellent television. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/28/24 Full Review Edwin T Must watch! Very funny sitcom will have you laughing a lot Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/07/22 Full Review Audience Member While Frasier started out strong, it found more of its voice in season 2, continuing to distance itself from Cheers while also recalling it. As the series established from the first season, Frasier's strongest card came from the character dynamics, with competing lowbrow and highbrow ideologies, and this season only enhances such dichotomy. The polished writing often yields hilarious effect from the dialogue, and the fact that it doesn't speak down to the audience may have even caused this series to get past some FCC regulations (did they just say "fellatio"?). While the producers had said they wanted to keep Frasier isolated from the cast of Cheers, this season features guest appearances from two of them, and it's also great fun to see them interact with this new (arguably more off-kiler) cast. A finely improved season, and the best was still yet to come! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member It's like it was the best season Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member After a much better than average first season, the second season proves that this show is a classic. Some of the greatest episodes of the entire series can be found in the second season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
