Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated by an eclectic mix of dreamers, artists and everyday folk, this multigenerational drama about family and friendship centers around Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory. Lorelai owns the town's bed-and-breakfast, the Dragonfly Inn, with best friend/chef Sookie, and contends with weekly dinners with eccentric, well-off parents Richard and Emily Gilmore (who always have something to say about their daughter's life). After high school, Rory attends Yale University but frequently returns to Stars Hollow to visit her mom.

Hal Boedeker Orlando Sentinel The comedy is diverting enough, but the poignant drama makes Gilmore Girls special. This series may not fit conventional expectations for family drama, but the show succeeds on that turf anyway. Mar 9, 2020 Full Review Steve Johnson Chicago Tribune The situation, of a daughter more mature than her mom, is familiar, true, but Amy Sherman-Palladino's writing, pointed and pop culture-savvy, brings fresh dimensions to it. Mar 9, 2020 Full Review John Carman San Francisco Chronicle "Gilmore Girls" seduces viewers with its own fantasy world -- well-scrubbed New England town, elegant and happily hip young mom, a general sense of equilibrium -- but the cast's chemistry bubbles and the script is exceptional. Rated: 3/4 Mar 9, 2020 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …a bildungsroman so long and insanely detailed that you’ll re-experiencing the Proustian rushes about life in Stars Hollow life long after your own forgettable youth is a fading memory in life’s rear view mirror…. Rated: 4/5 Dec 17, 2024 Full Review Charlotte Harrison Charlotte Sometimes Goes to the Movies No show does Autumn as well at this one, nor has set an impossible bar for men as high as Scott Patterson’s Luke Danes… Oct 3, 2022 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand For seven years mothers and daughters and even some fathers and sons watched Lorelei tussle with her disapproving blue-blood parents while tripping through a complicated romantic life that she can’t help but complicate even more. Ali J For some shows, they might take some time to really improve throughout the seasons. However, with Gilmore Girls, they already started great with the unique mother-daughter best friends relationship, other terrific characters, and the fast talking, especially with Lorelai and Rory, resulting in much longer scripts than the average tv script length. The average script length for a forty four minute episode is around 55-60 pages, but for Gilmore Girls, with the fast talking, jokes, and constant pop culture references, each episode is roughly 70 and sometimes 80 pages. The uniqueness of this show really elevates the comedy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review Gabrielle S It took me a few more episodes than usual to get invested—probably because I’m used to sitcoms—but now I can’t stop watching. My husband is hooked too, which says a lot! The sheer amount of dialogue is astounding; these characters pack so many words into a single scene without cutting, and it’s truly impressive. Even more remarkable is how smart the script is and how well each character develops over time. If you enjoy witty, dramatic, and slightly soapy shows, this is a must-watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/08/24 Full Review Aish P My favourite show of all time, the writing is great and the characters are so unique, you get involved in the characters arcs and relationship. this show is so comforting and easy to watch that watching along feels as easy as breathing. its inspirational for so many, the characters have realistic sides you can relate to and extraordinary sides for you to aspire to. No show has impacted me more, it will be my favourite forever Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/20/24 Full Review green eyed r My favorite series about family and relationship during your teenage years Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/09/24 Full Review Leah Lori is so incredibly annoying. I dont understand how this show was described as witty. It's so dry and mostly boring. The only reason I tried to watch it is because I saw that Jared paldecki from supernatural was in it. The very first things I noticed in the first season is Lori's obvious lies in saying she was self made and did everything on her own, despite having rich parents, we all know that's a load of bs. She had privileges amd opportunities that self made people don't have. A single mother would never realistically be able to afford that giant house they live in. She just seems incredibly blind to her privileges, self centered, annoying, amd a terrible role model. As the season progress it only gets worse as yet again they paint women as slutty and vain. These aren't strong or smart women. They are privileged cliches with zero self awareness. Yawn! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Aline B Gostoso de assistir como um café quentinho numa manhã de domingo. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
