Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated by an eclectic mix of dreamers, artists and everyday folk, this multigenerational drama about family and friendship centers around Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory. Lorelai owns the town's bed-and-breakfast, the Dragonfly Inn, with best friend/chef Sookie, and contends with weekly dinners with eccentric, well-off parents Richard and Emily Gilmore (who always have something to say about their daughter's life). After high school, Rory attends Yale University but frequently returns to Stars Hollow to visit her mom.

Gwen Ihnat AV Club A lesser show would give the audience what it's been wanting for four full seasons-the long-awaited Luke and Lorelai kiss-and call it a day, capping off a great episode... But Gilmore Girls will not settle for that. Sep 20, 2018 Full Review Lindsay Pugh Woman in Revolt For the first time ever, Rory and Lorelai must learn to live apart and make decisions for themselves. The season finale leaves both women on the cusp of significant change. Oct 1, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Ali J This season was good, but not the best. We get to see Rory at Yale and trying out for the Yale Daily News, Lorelai, Sookie, and Michel working on and opening the Dragonfly Inn, and Lorelai’s relationship with Jason. There are also bad moments, including Rory body-shaming the ballerina in her review, Richard cutting Jason out of his work, Emily and Richard separating, and Rory sleeping with a married Dean. The season however also started Lorelai and Luke at the end. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/27/24 Full Review Regal R 95/100 - classic, honestly worth watching and rewatching. the banter between rori and her mother is great. edward and kelly play fantastic grandparents and such accurate portrayals of those types of characters. living in new england and attending prep school in connecticut its a spot on representation of the small town feel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review andy h A lot of new things are in store this season, and it wraps up with all the right drama. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Jim H It's the nature of a series to have a progression. The first three seasons had goodhearted, kind, intelligent protagonists driven a bit batty by their environment, trying to navigate a world full of, it was possible to believe, at least some possibly-decent people in a similar predicament but not coping quite so well. You could believe there was some love of humanity driving the story, that the offered glimmers of hope might lead somewhere. It's possible to believe the writers think, or rather thought, they're writing comedy. It was easy to suspend any lingering disbelief arising from the exaggerated characters, to think there might be some gentle mockery of Norman Lear's mayyyybe-a-bit-too-precious imitators going on. But I was barely able to finish even three episodes of season four. This is not a comedic view of humanity. It is humanity as a nightmarish, dismal clown car of the self-involved that isn't going to somehow disgorge people capable of recovering what they might have been before surrendering to become just one more in the endless idiot sea of merciless psychodramas Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/03/21 Full Review Audience Member I finally finished the fourth season of Gilmore Girls! This show is one I watched when I was younger and re-watching it as an adult makes me love it even more! It is one of those shows that I continue to love and that continues to be great. I love the characters in this show a little too much and I can watch them do dumb shit for hours! That being said, the stories are starting to get a bit repetitive and I do worry for the future seasons.. But so far this show has been fantastic and a lot of good old fashioned fun!
