Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated by an eclectic mix of dreamers, artists and everyday folk, this multigenerational drama about family and friendship centers around Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory. Lorelai owns the town's bed-and-breakfast, the Dragonfly Inn, with best friend/chef Sookie, and contends with weekly dinners with eccentric, well-off parents Richard and Emily Gilmore (who always have something to say about their daughter's life). After high school, Rory attends Yale University but frequently returns to Stars Hollow to visit her mom.

Melanie McFarland Seattle Post-Intelligencer Gone is the slicing wit. Gone are the keen cultural references and the smarty-pants social jabs the Palladinos easily wove into each episode. Mar 9, 2020 Full Review Ken Tucker Entertainment Weekly The current Sherman-Palladino-less, death-blow season was more accurately Gilmore Ghosts, as the exhausted actors bumped into the furniture searching for their departed souls and smart punchlines. Rated: C+ Mar 6, 2020 Full Review Gwen Ihnat AV Club It ended as it began, which is to say, almost perfectly. Sep 20, 2018 Full Review Mary Kassel Screen Rant After nearly 25 years, Gilmore Girls is just as successful at drawing viewers in & making them care deeply about one family's ups & downs. Rated: 9/10 Dec 12, 2024 Full Review Scott D. Pierce Deseret News (Salt Lake City) The show feels like the "Gilmore Girls" we fell in love with, and at the same time it feels rejuvenated. Mar 9, 2020 Full Review Michael Abernethy PopMatters While it's true that the dialogue wasn't quite so rapid-fire during the final season, the series retained familiar elements. Ali J This is my least favorite season, probably because Amy Sherman-Palladino, the main writer of the first six seasons, left the show before season 7 because of contract issues. This made the whole season not very witty and not what fans were expecting. This season has plenty of bad moments and bad characteristics, including Lorelai not going to Luke’s Diner for plenty of the season after their breakup, Rory and Logan’s long distance for a majority of the season, Lane’s pregnancy, Jackson not telling Sookie about not getting a vasectomy, Rory forgetting her privilege and Logan reminding her of it, Logan acting immature after losing a lot of money with his father’s company, Lorelai and Christopher’s impulsive marriage after Christopher knew Lorelai was vulnerable, Christopher shortly breaking up with Lorelai after realizing her wasn’t there for Lorelai and Rory as much as Luke was from the character reference, and Anna trying to keep Luke out of April’s life and moving to New Mexico without talking to Luke. This season did have some good moments, including Logan leaving his father’s company, Logan seeing Stars Hollow for the first time, Lorelai’s improving opinion on Logan, Lorelai singing karaoke to Luke, Rory’s college graduation, Rory’s going-away town party, and Luke and Lorelai’s kiss in the finale. Logan proposing to Rory and Rory rejecting is pretty controversial, and I don’t know how I feel about it. In this season, some characters and their storylines just didn’t feel right or didn’t fit with the first six seasons. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/27/24 Full Review Regal R 95/100 - classic, honestly worth watching and rewatching. the banter between rori and her mother is great. edward and kelly play fantastic grandparents and such accurate portrayals of those types of characters. living in new england and attending prep school in connecticut its a spot on representation of the small town feel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Stacy H The ending wasn't that great, but it was still alright overall. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/23 Full Review andy h It's a fine conclusion for a comfy show before the revival decides the crowd. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I've heard mixed reviews about Season 7 so I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out that I liked it! It ranks right up there with Season 5 and it's amazing how much the Stars Hollow residents changed in only a Season. Even Emily, whom for most of the series I couldn't stand, was tolerable, and in some cases even likable. I loved the series finale, and I really didn't expect that it would make me cry. It wasn't perfect, but for me, it came pretty close. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review steve d Not as strong as the other seasons but it is still a blast.
