Charming, fast-talking consultant Marty Kaan and his MBA-toting colleagues charm smug, unsuspecting corporate fat cats into closing deals while spending a fortune for their services. Kaan isn't above using any means -- or person -- necessary to get what he wants. Members of his team are razor-sharp Jeannie van der Hooven, an Ivy League alumna; lackadaisical Clyde Oberholt, who's a lady's man; and math guru Doug Guggenheim, who's awkward with women. Marty lives with his psychoanalyst father, son Roscoe and, as of Season 5, his baby daughter.

Neil Drumming Salon.com House of Lies, a show known for its over-the-top inflection points, is just warming up. Jan 7, 2014 Full Review Chris Hayner Zap2it.com In the end the Kaan men were reunited and strong, so at least Marty has that again. May 11, 2016 Full Review Justin Bolger TV Equals One of the show's strengths has always been its ability to make Marty, a character with many unsympathetic qualities, sympathetic and relatable. Jan 21, 2014 Full Review Jessica Johnson Time Out Chicago Aside from the unclean feeling felt by entering into this world, House of Lies faces one other great problem: It's just not that funny. An explosive ending that is sure to make Season 4 interesting. Love this show. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Extremely disappointing, huge let down from the first first season. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell have a schemistry that I really didn't expect. Combined with the character of Marty Khan who tries to do right by his family while also trying to run a successful business and have his own life, this show unexpectedly pulled me in. I hope it runs for many seasons. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Season 3 of Showtime's House of Lies continues to be funny, smartly-written, and have great character development, plot progression, and strong performances from Cheadle and Bell. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This season has definitely upped the ante from the story-telling to the acting.
