Adjusting to life after a divorce hasn't been easy for Polly, especially with the poor economy. So she's left with no better option than to take her daughter and move back in with her parents. Polly's parents are adventurous, whereas she is conservative, so they have a difference of opinion about the direction she should take as she adjusts to a new chapter. Rounding out her support system is her ex-husband, Julian, and her co-worker and friend, Jenn, both of whom are there to help as she tries to forge a new life.

With its uneven writing and shopworn premise, How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) strands its talented cast in rote characterizations.

David Wiegand San Francisco Chronicle You may be able to live with your parents for the rest of your life, but can you live for a full half hour with ABC's dreadful new sitcom "How To Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)"? Betcha can't. May 28, 2020 Full Review Tim Goodman The Hollywood Reporter There's some good stuff here, there's some not so good stuff here. Take a look and you decide. Apr 4, 2013 Full Review Alan Sepinwall HitFix I'm more than a little under the weather today, but even at full health, I doubt I'd have the enthusiasm to write a full review of ABC's How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life). Apr 3, 2013 Full Review Randy Dankievitch Processed Media How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life) is a classic example of a pilot trying to do too much - to the point where many characters are introduced with lazy bits of on-screen text, complete with arrows in case we get really confused. Rated: C- Feb 19, 2020 Full Review Rachel Stein Television Without Pity How to Live is chock full of over-the-top in archetypes and terrible writing, which I would even say if the writers didn't shoehorn in the world "slut" every other scene. Apr 4, 2013 Full Review Carina Adly MacKenzie Zap2it.com The show isn't breaking new ground anywhere. It feels like a happy medium between The New Normal and Everybody Loves Raymond, but it manages to feel comfortably familiar as opposed to stale and overdone, largely due to the talented, relatable cast.
