Larry F I know that the series strays from the books, but if you can separate that (or if you have not read the books) then this one is a gem. The acting and writing are compelling and it is not easy to guess what direction the plot is heading. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/23 Full Review Bart P I didn't know what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent storylines and performances by the entire cast. Steve Greene indieWire Impulse doesn't take the conventional route for a show with immense powers. In uncharted territory, it's a show that's finding its way. Rated: B+ Jun 7, 2018 Full Review Dan Fienberg Hollywood Reporter It's weakly plotted, but appropriate for a show that wants to make you think it's a young adult action franchise starter, when it's really an interesting and somber character study with a heroine who, very rarely, teleports. Jun 5, 2018 Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media Intense, downbeat teen superhero series deals with assault. Rated: 3/5 Jun 12, 2018 Full Review Mark A. Perigard Boston Herald "Impulse" is smart enough to give the other adult characters, such as Cleo and Tom, some meaningful emotional beats of their own. Jun 12, 2018 Full Review Audra Schroeder The Daily Dot The focus is Henry's journey, however complicated and messy. Impulse takes care to make it feel real. Rated: 3/5 Jun 8, 2018 Full Review Joel Keller Decider It's well-acted and looks great. But people looking for lots of teleportation razzle-dazzle might be disappointed.
