N R It has compelling points and the actors are doing a good job but it has issues with a thin premise, questionable quality of writing that feels like darts thrown at an Idea wall because of said thin premise, a rough protagonist made insufferable and genuinely unlikeable by the 2nd season, long meandering side plots to justify a 50 minute runtime that should have been half as long. What should have been a semi-serious but fun teleporting adventure romp with friends somehow got retooled as a far more serious and dark "giving in to the dark side" story. And as a show that required flashing the RAINN hotline after each episode it didn't really justify it in my mind. In more capable hands the show could have sung. Maybe if it hasn't been developed for YouTube TV? I don't know. I liked the books this was, only in name, based on but they betrayed the tone and premise. And it was just decent enough, when dealing with the main characters, that its writing failures made the show feel gross by the end. The acting and writing are compelling and it is not easy to guess what direction the plot is heading.
